Ursula Hall is the smallest of all the ANU halls and colleges.
It is large enough for residents to find friends who have similar tastes and
interests, yet it is small enough to know everybody. Larger university colleges
struggle to gain the same sense of being a close, accepting community that
Ursula enjoys.
Our stated aim is to give the best undergraduate experience to
our members. We have strong traditions of academic success and of real resident
input in the daily life of the hall. We have wide participation in sports, the
arts, recreation and community involvement. We have a strong multicultural
tradition and strongly support all kinds of diversity. Our primary aim is
therefore to assist you in the achievement of high academic goals while at the
same time encouraging a well-rounded approach to life at university.
Our Academic Mentoring program involves almost 30 members of the
hall who have been particularly successful in key academic areas. This ensures
the continuation of our reputation as the most successful academic Hall or
college at the ANU. We offer specific help in certain key courses and with
specific difficult assignments, but also provide assistance in broad areas like
study skills, editing of written work produced by students for whom English is a
second language. If necessary, we are able to liaise with appropriate
individuals in key university agencies and faculties on our residents’ behalf.
