Pastoral Care

Ursula Hall has a small team of Senior Residents whose collective role it is to ensure that all residents feel at home and supported in our community.

The Pastoral Care team are there to make sure Ursies is a fun, safe and productive environment in which to live and study.

The Senior Residents are later year residents that have experienced the same kinds of challenges and difficulties that younger residents often face when away from home for the first time. They are your first point of contact. They are trained in dealing with most emergency and first-aid situations, as well as being a friendly face if you feel like just dropping by for a chat. A Senior Resident is always on duty each night and can be contacted if any problems arise. Eight Senior Residents provide pastoral care and support for a floor of 24 residents. The SR (International) provides additional support for all international residents. The SR (Academic) leads the large Academic Mentoring Program. The SR (Learning Communities) is responsible for the expanding learning community
program. Members of the Pastoral Care team are available for advice
and information about Ursula, the ANU, or Canberra. If you have a
problem on your floor, your Senior Resident is available to assist.

The Pastoral Care team is led by our two Sub-Deans for 2009, Mosfequs Salehin and Natalie Lim.
