Ursula Hall residents have 24-hour access to two well-equipped and
air-conditioned computer laboratories. Three resident computer technicians are
on call to assist with computing difficulties.
All the computers are connected to the Internet, allowing residents to use
e-mail and the web. This also allows students from other institutions to access
the computer systems provided by their institution.
The C1 computer room contains six Apple eMac's. The C2 computer room contains
six Pentium 4 PCs. There is a laser printer in each of the computer rooms. The
Macs and the PCs have the same programs used in the computer labs at the
University, allowing students to complete work at college. All the computers are
connected to the University network, and to the Internet.
Support is provided by the computer assistants, one of whom is rostered on
most nights of the week. At the start of each semester introductory courses are
offered for those who have had little experience with computers.
All residential rooms have access to a network connection from their room.
This allows them to connect to the University network, and the Internet from
their own computer.
The IT Assistant for 2009 is Matthew Rademaker
