Common Room

The Common Room is located on the ground floor of the hall and contains a large-screen projection TV, chairs and the hall Bar/Canteen. The late dinner room, TV room, and Sr Madeleine room are located off the common room.

The Ursies Canteen is open six nights a week, from 8-10pm. Residents find the Canteen very handy and it is a busy and social place to hang out. It sells a wide range of products including chips, lollies, chocolate bars/biscuits, cold drinks (soft drinks, energy drinks and juice), alcoholic beverages (beers, alcoholic sodas, Passion Pop and wines), to essentials such as washing powder and computer disks. The Canteen is staffed by Ursies residents and is provided as a non-profit service to residents, so the prices are some of the lowest on campus. The canteen also organises DVD nights every Friday and Saturday, when two new release movies are screened.

The common room is the location of many of the hall's social functions, such as the many Bar Nights. Each bar night has a theme such as "Back to School" or "The Eighties". These nights are always loads of fun, with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks being served. All bar attendants are trained in the responsible service of alcohol. The projection TV in the common room has access to a number of satellite TV channels and Foxtel.

The late dinner room is for those who cannot make the scheduled dinner time, here they can collect a late meal.

The TV Room is located off the common room, and is designed for smaller groups to watch TV. The same satellite channels available on the common room TV are available here.

The Sr Madeleine room contains lounge chairs, a TV and DVD. It is available for the use of residents. It is a great place for small groups of people to watch movies.
